At its core are two independent analogue filter channels combining a smooth, discrete recreation of the legendary 2045 low-pass filter (24dB/oct) with Stylophone’s proprietary GEN R-8 filter (12dB/oct). Together, they deliver eight distinct filter types per channel, including exclusive hybrid combinations that create wide band-pass, phaser-like band reject and ultra-wide notch responses unavailable in conventional filters.

Each filter is controlled by its own full ADSR envelope with linear and exponential modes and four trigger options, including gate input, audio threshold detection, looping auto-repeat and manual triggering. This allows the DF-8 to function as both a processor and a modulation source.

Beyond filtering, the DF-8 includes two white noise generators, a sample & hold circuit with slew control, and a gritty vintage PT2399 delay capable of self-oscillation. These features transform the unit into a complete analogue sound design system capable of subtle textures, evolving modulation, aggressive effects and experimental sonic chaos.
