There are two separate gain stages that allow you to adjust levels to and from your amp.

First, TONEX Capture connects to the output of your audio interface and allows you to feed that signal to your amp at just the right level using the left attenuation control.

Second, TONEX Capture connects to your amplifier’s line out (a speaker must be connected) or pedal output and allows you to feed that signal to your interface at the right level using the right attenuation control.

The end result is a pristine copy of your amp’s real tone, ready for TONEX modeling or any other use you can imagine.

With the TONEX Capture, you can record your guitar rig any way you want. It allows you to feed signals directly to your amp and pedals or use your audio interface for a variety of different configurations and signal paths for cabs, amps, or pure AI modeling. The tool comes equipped with TONEX SE, which offers hundreds of premium tone model presets, and you can access thousands more via the ToneNET service.

The TONEX Capture offers a range of input and output options specifically tuned for powerful amp modeling, reamplification, and recording. It features two separately adjustable gain stages, so you can record or capture your guitar in any way you can think of, anywhere you want to. It has one 1/4″ line input for audio interfaces, one XLR line output for balanced devices, a 1/4″ From Amp jack for connecting a direct output signal from an amp, a dedicated switch for selecting pre-amp output (Line Out) or powered output (Power Out) from amps, a 1/4″ output for connecting directly to guitar amps isolated from ground loops, and one 1/4″ output for connecting the Amp Out signal directly to a speaker cabinet. It also has ground-lift buttons for all outputs to further eliminate ground hum.

The TONEX Capture allows you to record your rig your way. You can use the Direct Amp setting to feed your amp with exactly the right signal. This tool captures the signal direct so that you can record anywhere without microphones or sound isolation. You can also use the Amp + Cab setting to mic up your cabinet as you prefer and capture your rig’s exact tone without sacrificing flexibility. The Amp + Cab Plus Direct setting offers the best of both worlds, as it lets you connect both direct amp and amp + cab for unrestrained freedom to build the ultimate guitar or bass tone. Additionally, you can use the Pedals setting to tone model pedals or route your recordings through your pedal collection for analog color and warmth.

The TONEX Capture comes equipped with TONEX SE software that includes 200 high-quality tone model presets, 20 amps, and 10 pedals for loads of creative inspiration. TONEX SE provides you with unlimited tone model creation, and you can download countless free tones from other users around the world via the ToneNET service, and upload your own tone creations as well.
